Showing your Google reviews for each location

Add a location's Google listing to see its Google rating, reviews by star and growth.

3 min read

For each location, RepRocket can show your rating on Google, the exact number of Google reviews at each star level, and how your review count grows. All it needs is the location's Google listing. There is no Google account to connect and nothing to sign in to.

What you see

On Ratings → Google, for the location chosen in the location switcher:

  • Google rating: the rating Google shows, the exact average behind it, and the total number of reviews.
  • Reviews by star: how many reviews Google has at five stars, at four, and down to one.
  • Reviews over time: the review count day by day, and how many were added.
  • Rating goal: the rating you want, and how many five-star reviews it takes to get there.

The Overview shows the same Google rating in its Google rating panel. With All locations chosen, the Google tab lists every location with its figures.

Step 1: Add the location's Google listing

The Admin owner or an Admin does this.

  1. Open Settings → Locations.
  2. Press Edit on the location.
  3. In Google listing, find the business by name and pick it from the list. You can also paste its Google place ID, or a Google Maps link that contains one.
  4. Save.

If you found your business by name when you created your account, the first location already has its listing.

Leave the field empty if a location is not on Google.

Step 2: Read the figures

  1. Choose the location in the location switcher at the top of the rail.
  2. Open Ratings and go to the Google tab.
  3. If it says "Not read from Google yet", press Refresh. It takes up to a minute.

How the figures stay up to date

  • Every location with a listing is read from Google once a day, automatically.
  • Refresh reads it again at once. Each location can be refreshed once every 10 minutes; the button says when it can be used again. Anyone who can manage the location can press it, including Users at that location.
  • The star counts are read from the business's public Google Maps page. When Google Maps does not give them, the figures come from Google's Places data instead: the rating, rounded, and the total. The tab then keeps showing the last star breakdown, with its date.

Set a rating goal

On the Rating goal panel, choose the rating you want on Google. The panel, and the Overview, then show how many five-star reviews it takes, counted from your exact reviews. If a goal cannot be reached with five-star reviews alone, the panel says so.

What this does not do

  • It does not connect your Google Business Profile account. You cannot reply to Google reviews or read their text from RepRocket. Do that in your Google Business Profile.
  • It does not change anything on Google. The listing is only read.
  • Your funnel's ratings and your Google reviews are counted apart. A rating is what a customer leaves in your funnel; a review is what they publish on Google.

To send customers to Google to leave a review, add your Google review link to the funnel. See Review links: Google, Yelp, Facebook and other sites.
