Review links: Google, Yelp, Facebook and other sites
Add the review links a funnel offers customers, and find the right address for each site.
3 min read
A review link is the address of the page where a customer writes a public review of you: on Google, Yelp, Facebook, or any other site. After rating, customers are offered each review link as a button. A funnel with no review link shows No review link and is not live until you add one.
Add a review link
- Open Funnels in the rail and choose the funnel.
- Go to Set up → Review links.
- Press Add a review link. Choose Which site: Google, Yelp, Facebook, or another site.
- Check the Name on the button. Customers see it, so use the name they know the site by.
- Paste the Review address and press Add the link. Review links are saved as you change them.
- Open the preview to see the buttons as a customer will.
You can also add review links while you create a funnel.
Where to find each link
| Site | Where to find the link |
|---|---|
| In your Google Business Profile, choose "Ask for reviews" and copy the short link Google shows. It opens the review box directly. | |
| Yelp | Open your Yelp page, press "Write a review" and copy the address. |
| Open your Facebook page's Reviews tab and copy the address. | |
| Another site | Any page where customers can leave a review, such as Tripadvisor, Trustpilot or a site for your trade. Copy its address. |
Google and the other sites name and move these controls from time to time. If the wording differs, look for "reviews" in your profile.
Check your links
Open each link yourself on a phone, signed out of your own account if you can. It should open the page where a review is written, for the right business and the right location.
How customers see the links
- Set up → Look → Review links decides how the buttons look: in each site's own colors, or in your colors.
- Set up → Questions decides where they appear. Each thank-you screen shows them directly, behind a button, or not at all. See How a funnel routes customers by rating.
Several locations
A review link belongs to one place. A Google review link for one branch sends customers to that branch's reviews only. When you copy a funnel to a new location, its review links are not copied: add the new location's own links to the copy.
Counting review link opens
Every time a customer taps a review link, it is counted. Analytics → Review link opens by site shows the count for each site. Opening a review link is not the same as publishing a review: what a customer does on Google or Yelp is not visible to RepRocket.
Review site rules
Each review site has its own rules. In general:
- Do not offer a reward in exchange for a review. If you offer a coupon, offer it to everyone who rates, whatever they say.
- Do not ask only happy customers for reviews. Google's review policy does not allow it. The standard funnel gives every customer a way to reach your review links.
- Do not write reviews for your own business, or ask staff to.
Read each site's current rules for the details.
